About YAPPPIP

The Yobe State Agency for Public-Private Partnership and Investment Promotion (YAPPPIP) was established subsequent to the enactment of the Yobe State Agency for Public-Private Partnership and Investment Promotion Law, 2023 by His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, the Governor of Yobe State of Nigeria.

YAPPPIP has the powers, among other areas, to initiate, facilitate and consummate public private partnership public-private partnership (PPP) initiatives and develop appropriate institutional and regulatory framework for Investment Promotion in the state.

Functions

YAPPPIP was established to perform the following key functions:
  1. Providing gainful employment opportunities to the teaming population of the State.
  2. Increase export of manufactured goods and other raw materials to generate foreign exchange income.
  3. Increase utilization and available agro-based and solid minerals for the establishment of processing industries.
  4. Increased local content of industrial input.
  5. Attracting foreign investors to the State.
  6. Increased private sector participation in the exploration and exploitation of mineral based raw materials and other Agricultural products in the State.
  7. To render Capital Market Services to the investing community in and around Yobe State.
  8. To partner with NGOs and development partners on executing projects that can move the State forward
  9. The State Government has also put in place a package of incentives to attract investors to the State. These incentives which are categorized into state specific and general were designed to promote investment, employment, sourcing and utilization of local raw materials.

Services

Key services provided by YAPPPIP includes:
  • Provision of information about investment opportunities in key sectors.
  • Investment advisory and facilitation.
  • Incentives negotiation and facilitation.
  • Negotiation of Public-Private Partnership agreements between the state government and private investors.
  • Support in accessing land or other state government services.
  • Facilitation of contractual arrangements between investors and local producers/ suppliers.
